Abstract

This study aimed to develop an Android-based Smart-Physical Fitness application for self-monitoring of students’ physical fitness and mental health and to test whether app usage intensity was associated with better health outcomes. A quantitative correlational design was applied to 150 high school students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, one-way ANOVA, and linear regression. The findings showed that app usage intensity had a significant positive relationship with physical fitness (r = 0.62, p < 0.001) and mental health (r = 0.58, p < 0.001). Students in the high-usage group obtained the highest mean scores for physical fitness and mental health, and ANOVA confirmed that the group differences were statistically significant. Regression analysis also indicated that app usage significantly predicted physical fitness (β = 0.62, p < 0.001) and mental health (β = 0.58, p < 0.001). The results support the hypothesis that more intensive use of the application contributes to better student well-being. The study offers practical implications for school-based digital health monitoring.
