DECLARATION ON THE USE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

The Global Journal of Law (GJLAW) enforces strict standards of academic integrity, legal accountability, and ethical scholarly conduct. Authors are under a formal obligation to disclose any use or non-use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in the preparation of manuscripts. This declaration must be explicitly stated and positioned prior to the reference list.


Option 1 — Declaration of AI-Assisted Use

Declaration Statement

The author(s) hereby declare that generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, namely [specify tool, e.g., ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini, Claude], were utilized solely for limited linguistic assistance, including grammar correction, language refinement, and enhancement of textual clarity. All substantive legal reasoning, argument construction, interpretation of legal norms, and conclusions presented in this manuscript constitute the independent intellectual work of the author(s). The author(s) affirm that all AI-assisted content has been critically examined and verified, and they assume full legal and academic responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript.

Editorial Note:
The use of generative AI is strictly confined to non-substantive functions. Any use of AI in core legal analysis, doctrinal reasoning, normative argumentation, or conclusion formulation is strictly prohibited. Authors bear full responsibility and legal accountability for all submitted materials.


Option 2 — Declaration of Non-Use of AI

Declaration Statement

The author(s) hereby declare that this manuscript has been prepared entirely without the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or any automated content-generation technologies. All legal arguments, interpretations, analyses, and written expressions are the original intellectual work of the author(s).

Editorial Note:
The use of standard digital tools, including grammar checkers, spell-check systems, or citation management software, does not fall within the scope of generative AI and does not require disclosure.


Ethical Policy Governing Editorial and Peer Review Process

The editorial board of the Global Journal of Law (GJLAW) strictly prohibits the use of generative AI technologies by editors and reviewers in the evaluation, assessment, or decision-making process concerning submitted manuscripts. This prohibition is imposed to:

  • Preserve the confidentiality of unpublished legal manuscripts
  • Protect the intellectual property and legal rights of authors
  • Maintain independence, objectivity, and doctrinal rigor in editorial judgments

Any violation of this policy may constitute a breach of publication ethics and may result in appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established academic and legal standards. This policy is subject to periodic review in line with developments in artificial intelligence governance and legal scholarship.
